http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2colMsliCqw Double-tracked is my attempt at a robust tank using the rubber treads. I used the rubber treads instead of the hard plastic treads since they have much better grip (and I have no plastic treads). This worked very well. The only down side to this is that there was no suspension. Also, the gears connecting the front and back treads would often catch on the ground. Overall though, I think this could outperform almost any other Lego tank the same size with hard plastic treads.
Instructions can be downloaded here(Pdf).
3D files can be downloaded here (Zip).
Check if you have all he parts by going to rebrickable.
Could I know the size of this robot? Like, height, length, breadth? Thanks!
I would guess about a foot long, 6 inches wide, and 4 inches tall
can it be attached with a saw?
“if you can dream it you can build it”
I don’t actually know what you mean
My school teacher challanges me to build a vehicle that can cut wood under snowy weather,so i was wondering if this could be attached to a saw and how must it be programed…..pls help me
lots of ducktape
It would be nice if you could be able to provide instructions to program a nxt remote on this tank im in the maine robotics club I’m interested in this build I think it’s a great concept easy to build instructions I think if I’m able to build this tank with a Bluetooth remote that would be awesome and i think it would be a winner in the tournament, thanks
Evan fournier
I’ve never found Bluetooth to be that reliable, but here’s an example: http://www.nxtprograms.com/NXT2/5-button_remote/index.html
What I’ve used before that worked well is a wireless playstation 2 controller, with this adapter: http://www.mindsensors.com/ev3-and-nxt/32-psp-nx-combo-with-wireless-controller
Thank you but I have a question how would you program a tank I’m super good at this stuff I just never really used Bluetooth controllers help at evanfournier101@gmail.com
What state robotics club are you at. Thanks
Unfortunately, its been a while since I’ve done anything with Mindstorms. I also was never on an official Mindstorms team. Since I only have one NXT, I only ever tested out a Bluetooth remote once with a friend and it didn’t work perfectly. (we used the one i sent you a link to above)
Another thing to look at is the iNXT remote: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/inxt-remote/id317399938?mt=8
I used this before and had good success, but only after lots of setup – if you use this app, make sure to look through all the instructions online first
this looks like a great build I’m going to email you about this
can you put th eprogram plz answer to my email plzz.
